If you’re like most website owners, you probably use Google Analytics to track the traffic on your website. Google Analytics gives great insights into how to find out where your traffic is coming from. This can be done easily by checking your Traffic Sources reports. These reports break down everything you need to know about the medium and source of your web traffic.
Knowing where your traffic is coming from to specific pages is very useful. Doing so allows you to best optimize your website and marketing efforts, analyze which of your marketing tactics are working best, and make more data-informed decisions.
To check traffic sources to specific pages in Google Analytics:
- Open Google Analytics
- Navigate to Behavior > Overview
- Scroll down and click the page you want to analyze.
- Click the “Secondary dimension” drop down manu and select “Acquisition” and then “Source” or “Source/Medium”
From here you can see where the traffic is coming from to any webpage on your site.
