About this episode

Ty Smith announces the launch of Coinbound Entrepreneur Circle (CEC), a new mastermind community built for Web3 founders, CEOs, and executives. The idea grew out of three years of running marketing campaigns for Web3 brands at Coinbound, where Ty noticed that the strength of an executive team's professional network consistently correlated with company success. Since Web3 is still a small, fast growing industry and entrepreneurship can be isolating, CEC aims to give leaders a structured way to find partners, share progress, and learn from each other.

Membership includes monthly virtual networking calls, in-person meetups at major conferences starting with NFT NYC, a private Telegram group, and a custom built social platform exclusive to members for posting updates and getting feedback. Coinbound is also offering thought leadership perks like blog and media publishing opportunities, plus digital badges (possibly as NFTs) to help members signal credibility in the space.

Access is selective. Applicants must hold an executive level role, founder, CEO, COO, or other C-suite position, at a Web3 company. Coinbound evaluates applications case by case based on company size, revenue, funding raised, and token market cap where applicable. Applications opened 24 hours before this episode and had already drawn close to 100 submissions. Interested founders can apply at coinbound.io/circle.

What's up guys? If you are a Web3 entrepreneur, founder, CEO, or executive, we are about to make your life a whole lot easier when it comes to finding and building a professional network. We are launching a mastermind called Coinbound Entrepreneur Circle, or CEC for short, that is designed to help you build a strong relationship, find partners, build strategic partnerships, and collaborate with like-minded people that are also building in the space. So, a little background on why we're launching this.

Ty Smith0:20

But first, a quick shout-out to our sponsor, Zoop. Zoop is an NFT platform that allows users to connect with celebrities and gain access to experiences and look-alike communities through the collection of NFT collectibles and in-app games. They are working on some really cool ways to redefine influencer and celebrity engagement with NFTs, so check them out at zoopcards.com or click the link in the description.

Coinbound's mission is a simple one. It's give Web3 companies the tools they need to be successful. So, over the past three years, we've done some amazing marketing campaigns for some of the biggest brands in the space, as well as small ones that are just getting started. And we've found one thing that was really important to the success of the company, and that was the strength and quality of the professional network of the executive team. So, no surprise there. If you're a well-connected person, you'll have a much easier time getting a startup off the ground. And if you have connections that's specific to your industry, that makes it even more so easy to build something successful.

Ty Smith1:17

But it's not always the easiest thing to do to find like-minded people, and entrepreneurship and leadership can be quite lonely, especially in the Web3 space, which is a rapidly growing but still relatively small industry as compared to others. So, we're building this. It's going to be awesome. It's an exclusive networking community for Web3 entrepreneurs and leaders. The whole mission is to create these synergistic relationships amongst leaders in this space, again, help them find partners, share your wins with people, and just build a community of people that are passionate about building the future of Web3.

Ty Smith2:06

So, we're doing some really cool perks come along with membership. First and foremost, we're doing monthly virtual networking events. So, every month, everyone's going to get together. We're going to have a structured yet relatively informal meeting, go over the latest news in the space, make introductions, make connections, find out what people are working on, provide constructive feedback to each other, and just help each other grow, again, once a month.

Ty Smith2:22

We're also going to be doing in-person events. As of right now, we have something planned for NFT NYC. We're looking to do things outside of every major crypto conference as well, things like dinners where we can just kind of meet up and, again, make some face-to-face time amongst, again, Web3 entrepreneurs.

Ty Smith2:33

We're also doing an exclusive Telegram community. So, if you're part of CEC, you'll get access to this Telegram chat. It's just a platform for you to more freely ask questions, get feedback, talk with one another.

Ty Smith3:07

And then we also, on top of that, we have a really, really cool, I'm really excited about this, a really cool custom-built essentially social media platform for Web3 entrepreneurs. And you only get access to this if you're part of CEC. And it's a great place to post your wins, get constructive feedback on things you're working on, provide updates to people, keep track of all the events that we have going on, message each other. Again, it's a really cool, very custom-built and very evolving, rapidly evolving platform that we're building for Web3 entrepreneurs.

Ty Smith3:29

On top of that, if you're a member of CEC, you get some pretty cool perks regarding like thought leadership building opportunities, like editorial ones and publishing ones. So, you can publish on Coinbound's blogs, you can contribute to thought leadership pieces that are being put out in Web3 from some of the leading media outlets. And at the end of the day, we're just trying to pack as much possible value as possible into this community.

Ty Smith4:10

So, if you're a Web3 entrepreneur, we are actively, constantly trying to figure out what helps you get to the next level, and we're adding that to this community. One thing we're doing that I think is kind of cool is we're doing digital badges for members. So, it's kind of hard sometimes to differentiate yourself in this space as an authority or as someone that is trustworthy or reputable. So, we're going to be issuing digital badges to all the members. A pretty vigorous process is, I'll get into the application process in a minute, it's going to be quite vigorous.

Ty Smith4:28

But there's going to be digital badges that prove you're a member of CEC. And we're even exploring doing it with NFTs. Again, this is not an NFT project by any means. We're not trying to gate via token. We're just trying to build a really passionate and synergistic community of Web3 entrepreneurs. And if you get some NFTs with it, cool.

Ty Smith5:04

All right, how do you join? So, like I said, we just started accepting applications 24 hours ago. We've got close to 100, I think, right now. We're going to be really selective. You have to be an executive level or higher person in a Web3 company. So, that's a founder, a CEO, a COO, a C-level suite, any kind of executive level, and it's limited to that.

Ty Smith5:20

The main factors we're looking for are size of the company, success of the company, annual revenue of the company, funding raised to date if you've raised money. If it's a token-related project that has a market cap, we'll look at that as well. It's all going to be done on a custom case-by-case basis, and we're just looking for people that we feel can add a lot of value to this community, as well as get a lot of value out of this community.

Ty Smith6:01

Like I said, applications are open now. You go to coinbound.io/circle. It'll give you all the information. It'll give you more information about all the perks that we're building. And then, again, that's just a start. We're trying to cram as much value as possible into this. And if it sounds like something you can get value out of, if you're someone that has seen exponential growth from growing your professional network like I have and like nearly everyone else that I know that owns a business, I really recommend this. It's going to, again, make it really easy for you to build connections in the space. We're doing everything we possibly can to help you find strategic partners, to help you learn, to help you learn from the mistakes of others in this space, to help you just accelerate your growth. So, again, check that out, coinbound.io/circle, and I hope to see an application soon.
