Challenge

Two launches, one news cycle

The April 2024 halving was the busiest week of the year for Bitcoin news. Sovryn had two stories to tell inside it: it would be among the first platforms to support Runes, the new Bitcoin token standard that went live at the halving, and its team was publishing the BitcoinOS whitepaper, a technical case for rollups on Bitcoin.

Both needed to cut through halving coverage and reach traders and developers, and the whitepaper needed to be explained in terms a general crypto reader could follow.

Solution

Sequenced news around the halving

Coinbound ran PR for both projects from late March to mid May 2024, timing each announcement to the halving.

Setting up the story before the halving

Bitcoin.com News ran a feature in late March on the new technologies arriving with the halving, rollups and tokens, and Sovryn's new initiatives in both.

Runes trading, day one

Sovryn's Runes launch on April 24, with a custom bridge between the Bitcoin mainchain and its DEX, was covered by cryptonews.net, AlexaBlockchain, Blockster and Investing.com France.

The BitcoinOS whitepaper

The whitepaper landed on April 25 in crypto.news, CryptoPotato and Binance Square, and Decrypt followed with a feature on how rollups could speed up Bitcoin transactions by 10x.

Staying in the news

CoinDesk covered Sovryn twice in May, in Protocol Village and The Protocol, with syndication to TradingView, Business Insider and Yahoo Finance. Rarity Sniper ran an interview with Edan Yago.

Results

750K+ views across 27 placements

The campaign produced 27 media placements in seven weeks, with an estimated 750,000+ article views and a combined outlet audience of more than 66 million.

Beyond the articles, the whitepaper coverage was reshared by crypto.news and other accounts across X and LinkedIn, putting BitcoinOS in front of developers and investors.
